Accommodation

The Green is the centre of student life here at Bradford. It is the accommodation recommended by the University of Bradford to our students.

The Green is just a few minutes from the Students' Union, the library and your morning lectures. It is also just a short walk away from the city centre and other local attractions. This makes it the perfect place to call home during your time at university.

Living at The Green means you'll be a part of a close-knit community. The Site Team and our Student Wardens organise social events, trips, competitions and games on and off site – so you'll have plenty of opportunities to meet new people and make lots of friends.

This is your city

Bradford is one of the largest cities in the UK, a young, enterprising city of over 500,000 people.

The city is proud to have been named UK City of Culture 2025.

Bradford city centre is only a ten-minute walk from campus. It offers a wide range of shops, including the Broadway – home to over 70 stores, eateries, and a cinema.

Bradford’s vibrant nightlife is based around the tunnels of Sunbridge Wells, the restaurants and bars around City Park and the independent craft scene of North Parade.

The city centre also offers transport links to the surrounding areas of Howarth, Ilkley, Saltaire, Leeds and Halifax – perfect for a day out exploring, hiking or shopping.

Whatever you're into you'll find it here, and there's loads more to discover when you venture beyond the city centre.

Safety on campus

Campus is a safe, relaxed environment, but our security team are there for our students 24/7.

Security staff patrol all areas of the University on foot and by vehicle throughout the day and night. There is an extensive system of CCTV cameras, intruder alarms and access control in all areas of University property for your safety and security.

The Security and Emergency Services Office is located in the Atrium of the Richmond Building. It is staffed at all times of the day and night, with staff available to help you with any problems that you may have.
